In Indonesia, we have this delicious drink (juice) made of avocado and added with chocolate. It’s usually served fresh and cold, which is perfect for the tropical weather in Indonesia. Not only tasty and delicious, avocado actually also gives us some health benefits in addition to its delicious taste.
For example, avocado contains high level of vitamins from A, B5, B6, C and K between 10-20% each in every 100 grams of the fruit. And like olive oil, it also contains monounsaturated fatty acid that tends to be very healthy (a major component in olive oil).
The myth that I heard said that avocado actually contains a lot of fats and increases your cholesterol, which are totally false. According to the research, avocado actually helps to reduce cholesterol level and it contains high fiber level. Every a hundred grams of avocado contains almost 30% of our fiber daily needs.
Additionally, avocado also helps to provide us great amount of antioxidants for both beauty and health necessities. Even better, this fruit can also protect our health by preventing cardiovascular diseases and cancers.
Avocado may also help us to reduce body weight in a healthy way as whenever we eat avocado, we may not feel hungry for the next few hours, meaning that we can avoid to eat more than we should (based on my personal experience).
As I said earlier, in Indonesia, avocado is often served as a tasty juice added with chocolate. However, this is the yummy Indonesian tradition in preparing avocado as surely, it’s also great to be eaten as normal fruit or even as a salad ingredient.
